Maya Jama was born in Bristol and raised by her mum Sadie.
Her mother gave birth to the Love Island host when she was 18-years-old.
Sadie is of Swedish descent, while Maya's father Hussein is of Somali descent

Maya explained: "She had me at 18, so our relationship was a bit different. I rebelled less because I was quite free.
"My mum's always been like, 'I want you to have your experiences—just tell me. I'm not going to judge you or shout at you.''
However, she did admit that sometimes Sadie takes the 'cool mum' vibe a bit too far.
Maya confessed: "She's banned from my parties though. She gets too drunk."
She also admitted they often get mistaken for sisters, adding: "All my boyfriends and friends that were guys fancied her."
Maya also revealed in an interview that she had to keep landing the Love Island gig a secret from Sadie.
Speaking to ITV, she said: “I’m not a good liar. I didn’t tell my mum because she’d get too excited and tell people."
