If you were to guess who has the most screen time in the MCU, would you have guessed the record holder is Tony Stark?

His words are prophetic — this is the path that he started us on — that he started the MCU on. Sure, Captain America fought the Red Skull in the 1940s and Nick Fury met Carol Danvers in the 1990s, but the MCU as we know it all started with Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man.

From building his own suit in a dark cave, to becoming the world’s first superhero, Tony Stark has been the face of the Avengers for almost a decade. His memorable declaration “I am Iron Man” set the stage for all 22 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These 22 films have to a close with Avengers: Endgame. Tony has been at the center of it all, and his screen time up through Avengers: Infinity War proves that as he clocks in at whopping 322 minutes.

Sure, Cap was the “first Avenger”, but his screen time is a full 100 minutes less than Tony’s, at 212 minutes. And what about the other Avengers? Thor and the Hulk clock in over 100 minutes, with Thor narrowly closing on Captain America at 183 minutes. However, the rest of the Avengers don’t even break an hour and 20 minutes of screen time.

And the lowest on the Avengers totem pole? Sadly that goes to Quicksilver who perished only minutes after being dubbed an Avenger during Age of Ultron. Vision, Hawkeye, and Scarlet Witch clock in just around 30 minutes, even though we know they all deserve more time. Perhaps that’s why Hawkeye was saved from the snap. Surely he’ll get to be a major player in Endgame. And, with a Black Widow movie and Hawkeye Disney+ series reportedly in the works, maybe we’ll get more screen time for both Clint and Natasha, hopefully in Budapest, right?
