THERE can only be one winning couple at the end of Love Island season five, therefore a number of hopefuls must be dumped from the island.

The public normally have a say on who is booted off the ITV2 series and who has a chance of taking home the £50,000 prize. Here's what we know about the Love Island eliminations.

When was the first Love Island elimination?

The first elimination of series five took place on Friday, June 7, 2019 and saw aircraft engineer Callum Macleod become the first islander to leave the competition.

None of the female cast members chose to couple up with him, leaving him single and ultimately sent him home.

Speaking after his elimination, Callum said: “It’s unfortunate that I didn’t meet anyone that I connected with but I had such good fun in there.

“Even though I didn’t meet anyone that I could potentially be with on the outside, I loved it, which is a great bonus.”

Who left Love Island last night (week three)?

Caroline Flack delivered the shocking news that one person from each couple in the bottom two would be dumped from the island during episode 14.

At the fire pit, the Love Island host announced the public had been voting for their favourite Islander in each pairing, stunning cast members.

Anton Danyluck was saved, sending Elma Pazar packing, meanwhile Joe Garratt received the fewest votes and Lucie Donlan got to stay.

Understandably, there were a lot of tears, with Lucie later contemplating whether to stay in the villa or leave with her partner.

When was the second Love Island elimination?

The latest re-coupling took place on Sunday, June 16, 2019, with the boys choosing which girl they wanted to couple up with.

There were no surprises when Danny and Yewande coupled up, then Michael paired up with Amber, and Joe picked Lucie – before Anton coupled up with new girl Elma.

Tommy finally made his mind up after being torn between Molly-Mae and Maura, and chose to couple up with Molly-Mae.

Anna and Maura were left alone and at risk of being dumped from the villa.

But they were given another chance when Maura received a text telling them they were heading on dates with new boys, Tom Walker and Jordan Hames who would soon be entering the villa.

Who's now in danger of being sent home from Love Island?

Anna Vakili, who is in a vulnerable position following Sherif Lanre's shock exit, tops bookmaker Corals' list of female contestants to be eliminated with odds of 20/1.

Behind her are new girls Elma Pazar with odds of 12/1 and Maura Higgins with odds of 10/1

Next is Yewande Biala and Molly-Mae Hague who have been given odds of 8/1.

And then Lucie Donlan, who is currently coupled up with Joe Garratt, comes in with a safe 33/1.

Behind her is Molly-Mae Hague at 2/1 and then its Maura Higgins with odds of 9/4.

while Amber Gill chances of being booted off the show stand at 20/1 now that her romance with Michael is heating up.

Lucie Donlan, who is currently coupled up with Joe Garratt, comes in at 11/2.

Then there's Amy Hart and Amber Gill, who's chances of leaving any time soon are slim to none, with odds of 50-1.

With the boys, Anton Danyluk has topped the list to be the second male contestant to leave the villa at 12/1

Danny Williams  follows behind at 8/1 and Tommy Fury comes in at third place with 7/1 odds.

Joe Garratt, 22, has been given a 11/2 chance, while Curtis Pritchard has been given 2/1 chances.

Following him is Michael Griffiths who has low chances of leaving, at 15/8.

When is the next elimination taking place?

Love Island eliminations are sporadic, therefore there is no way of knowing for sure when the next one will occur.

However, given the last elimination took place on Tuesday, June 18 the following one may be a little way off.

Usually, Iain Stirling will reveal the night before an elimination if someone is intended to be dumped from the Island.

Fans of the ITV2 series generally have a say on who stays and who goes by voting through the official Love Island app.

How does the voting system for Love Island work?

When the elimination happens next it will be decided by the Islanders.

However, usually Love Island viewers can take part in all public votes via the free app, once per device.

At the end of an episode, Love Island will reveal if there is an active vote which is usually used to allow viewers to pick who leaves, who returns and which pair will be sent on a date.

The official Love Island app is available to download for Android and Apple iOS users.

It is free to download and use via the iTunes App Store here or on Play Store here.

What days in the week is Love Island on ITV2?

You’ll be able to get your fix of the show every night on ITV2 where the main programme, hilariously narrated by Iain Stirling, will give us the lowdown on all the goings-on in the villa – from couples cracking on to singletons getting mugged off.

Saturday night's show differs from the rest of the week, as it is a round-up of all the best bits from the villa that week – and maybe some unseen footage.

If that’s not enough, you can also watch Caroline Flack's spin off show Aftersun on Sunday nights at 10pm after the main show has aired, where she discusses the latest action with celebrity guests, as well as those eliminated from the villa.
