Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) suffered a panic attack while testifying at Whitney Dean’s trial before collapsing, in scenes many viewers may find reminiscent of Mick’s struggles last year after finding out his son Ollie is on the autistic spectrum.

When Mick is under intense pressure and feels overwhelmed by stress he struggles with his breathing and the panic attack that ensues causes him to collapse. He collapsed twice last year, once at a football game and again after an argument with Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ).

The former Vic landlord has been pushed to breaking point once again recently, what with the pressure of Whitney’s trial and the explosive revelation that Frankie (Rose Ayling-Ellis) was his daughter.

Now there also appears to be a dark secret in Mick’s past that has resurfaced to haunt him – so could this been the reason behind his collapse?

What happened to Mick Carter in the past?

After what happened at the trial, Mick was seen reflecting on his past and the scenes hinted at a current fan theory that Mick may have been abused as a child.

There is speculation that the abuse may involve Frankie’s mum Katy – as Mick has been left reeling ever since he found out the truth about Frankie and who her mother is.

Although this theory is yet to be confirmed by the soap’s bosses, Mick was clearly  alluding to something troubling when he told his wife that the circumstances surrounding Frankie’s conception shouldn’t have been allowed to happen.

We are yet to discover the full extent of the harrowing secret Mick is hiding in his past and the true reason for his panic attack in court.

But as all soap secrets do, the truth will no doubt eventually out sooner or later.
