Tipping Point fans were forced to apologise to contestant John after the impressive quizhead won the £10,000 jackpot with his final counter.

On Monday afternoon’s episode (January 9), host Ben Shephard welcomed five new contestants onto the ITV programme to put their knowledge to the test in an effort to take home the eye-watering cash prize.

It sees contestants battle it out to win a £10k jackpot by answering general knowledge questions for counters to put into the 2p arcade-style machine.

Making it all the way to the final round was egghead John and loveable vet Jess who pushed him to his limits as they fought it out for a place in the winning spot.

But the brunette beauty was no match for John’s impressive skills as h demolished the vet leaving her to walk away empty handed.

And it appeared as though the manager was on top form after he smashed it during his solo stint which saw him rake in an impressive £3,500 with the winning gold token just inches from landing in his hands.

At the end of the round, Ben asked him if he would like to take home the impressive sum he had earned throughout the show or risk it all for an extra three tokens for a chance to bag the £10k token.

Before he came on the show, the loving husband explained that if he competed on the show and secured more than £3,000 he never trade in the funds.

But when push came to shove, the contestant followed his gut and risked it all in an effort to take home an extra £6,500.

It was at this point that fans flooded to Twitter begging the contestant not to take the trade and to go home with the winnings he had earned so far.

One user penned: “No way did he just take the trade [crying emoji] #TippingPoint” as another agreed: “Not sure I’d have risked it #TippingPoint.”

After he was granted three extra tokens, the doting dad managed to secure the golden token despite going against everyone’s warnings online.

It was at this point that fans apologised for doubting his skills online as they congratulated him on his successful win which would be spent on a family holiday to Florida next year.
