WARNING: The following article contains spoilers from The Walking Dead season 10, episode one.

Fans of The Walking Dead have long been awaiting news that Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) will be found alive after his ambiguous departure in season nine seemed to have sealed his death. With Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) already set to make a comeback in season eleven things could be less a little less bleak for Rick than first thought. Now, it seems Rick’s return could be set to take place in the show’s third Spin-off after showrunners shared a huge clue at this New York Comic con.

Rick Grimes was last seen being air-lifted away by a mysterious helicopter after the Walkers closed in around him in nearly killing the lead.

With Rick wounded floating in and out of consciousness, it didn’t look good for the survivor as fans feared he would be killed off.

At the moment it is unknown if Rick made it out alive and where the helicopter was taking him.

It seems Rick has a purpose elsewhere as his apparent rescuers referred to him as ‘B’ while they communicated through a radio.

However, it seems all will be revealed after showrunners gave away a huge clue at New York Comic Con.

Showrunner Scott Gimple revealed a closer look at the helicopter will reveal something major connecting the main show and Rick’s storyline to the spin-off series.

Scott explained: “Those three circles, represent three different civilizations that are bound,”

“And the place [the new characters from the spinoff are from] is associated with one of those circles.”

Speaking out about their third spin-off series, showrunners revealed the unnamed series is set to take place during the events of the main show, but elsewhere.

The show will feature a community in the Midwest that managed to rebuild itself and make life more than just survival.

Speaking out about the show Scott Gimple said: “This is nearly 10 years after the start of the apocalypse,

“So this is one of those big things that is happening at the same time as The Walking Dead, but they have no idea about each other”
