MICHAEL Jackson’s Simpsons episode has been excluded from Disney+ leaving his fans angry.

The Simpsons special featured the voice of the late pop star, but has been omitted from the new streaming platform after bosses claimed it was "the only choice to make".

Jackson played Leon Kompowsky, a man who meets Homer Simpson in a psychiatric hospital and claims to be the King of Pop.

In the episode, titled Stark Raving Dad, he befriended Homer's daughter Lisa Simpson and sang Lisa it's your birthday in classic scenes.

In 1998, TV Guide place it in its list of top twelve Simpsons episodes.

However, Jackson's interaction with children came under renewed scrutiny in the Leaving Neverland documentary, in which Wade Robson and James Safechuck accused the singer of sexually abusing them as children.

Following the film, Simpsons executive producer James L Brooks announced the 1991 episode would be pulled from all broadcasts.

He said: "The guys I work with – where we spend our lives arguing over jokes – were of one mind on this.

"This was a treasured episode. There are a lot of great memories we have wrapped up in that one, and this certainly doesn’t allow them to remain."

He added: "I’m against book burning of any kind. But this is our book, and we’re allowed to take out a chapter."

However, Jackson's fans have slammed the decision and one said on Twitter: "Another cowardly woke decision. The Stark Raving Dad Simpsons episode with the acquitted Michael Jackson isn't on Disney+ streaming. Yet A Bug's Life, featuring Kevin Spacey voicing Hopper, is. #HollywoodHypocrites #DisneyPlus #Disney"

Another agreed and wrote: "I’m very disappointed #Disney released #TheSimpsons on their new digital app without The episode “Stark Raving Dad” which featured #MichaelJackson voice

"You’re starting off on the wrong foot! SMH Michael was and still is a legend and you can’t erase his legacy!"

And one said: "Disney really did it, they didn’t add the Michael Jackson episode of The Simpsons on to Disney plus.

"The 3rd season starts w/ the second episode instead."

Meanwhile, The Simpsons‘ showrunner Al Jean previously claimed that Michael Jackson used his Simpsons cameo for a “false purpose”, alleging that Jackson’s guest appearance was "part of what he used to groom boys".
