What will happen in The Handmaid’s Tale season 3, episode 11?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for The Handmaid’s Tale season 3

The Handmaid’s Tale season three, episode 11 is set to be released on Hulu next Wednesday (July 31).

This series of The Handmaid’s Tale only features 13 episodes and is nearing the end.

The new episode will follow up on June’s vow to free the children of Gilead, which viewers saw gain widespread support from the Marthas at the end of the previous instalment.

The trailer opens with Martha Beth (Kristen Gutoskie) telling June that the Marthas are in the household to ask her about her plans.

“Just answer their questions, don’t ask any. Don’t say anything extra,” Beth tells her.

WHERE IS THE HANDMAID’S TALE FILMED?

One Martha asks June: “Are you working on a plan to get kids out? Who asked you to do that?”

Another says to her about the plan: “Dumb idea.”

The promo also features clips of June looking through the files of Handmaids to work out where their children are now.

We also get a glimpse at where the Waterfords will be heading next as it was revealed at the end of episode 10 that they will be doing all they can to return baby Nichole to them.

Commander Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) pulls up in a car for Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) as the pair are seemingly heading to Canada.

“May the Lord bless our endeavour,” Fred says to her to which she replies: “Amen.”

WHAT HAPPENED IN EPISODE 10?

This could mean that we will see Emily (Alexis Bledel), Moira (Samira Wiley) and Luke (O. T. Fagbenle) in the new episode as the couple prepare bring the baby back to Gilead.

The trailer ends on a hint at what is next for Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) and his wife Eleanor (Julie Dretzin).

Viewers will remember that in the previous episode, June was forced to endure the Ceremony, which proved too much for Eleanor.

Progressively her bipolar disorder has also been getting worse as she has been denied the necessary medicine by the republic of Gilead.

WHO IS IN THE CAST OF THE HANDMAID’S TALE?

The trailer cuts to Eleanor pointing a gun at Lawrence as June walks in to see what is happening.

Eleanor says to June: “You were brutalised because of him.”

A behind-the-scenes look at the previous episode Bear Witness revealed the conundrum that Lawrence is struggling with.

Actor Bradley Whitford said of the character: “He is in a difficult moral place because he genuinely is in love with his wife and Gilead has absolutely broken her.

“On the one hand, that seems like a great character trait but on the other hand it’s kind of pathetic that you can’t imagine the suffering that you’ve inflicted if it doesn’t touch you at home.”

To find out how this tense episode will end, viewers will have to tune in to Hulu next Wednesday.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 3 drops weekly on Hulu on Wednesdays and airs on Channel 4 in the UK every Sunday at 9pm.
