The dark side of the force is one of the two key sides to the Star Wars world and is where some of the greatest characters in cinematic history have been created, even if they are considered to be the villains.

10 Matthew Wood ($800,000)

Matthew Wood might not be a name that you know incredibly well, but you will certainly recognise his voice from the Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith movie, with Wood portraying General Grievous.

Grievous was an incredibly popular character in the Star Wars universe, with his four arms (and four lightsabers) providing a very unique visual that had never been seen before (or since) in a Star Wars movie.

9 Gwendoline Christie ($3 Million)

She may not control the force or wield a lightsaber, but Captain Phasma is the commander of the First Order’s force of stormtroopers in the latest set of Star Wars movies, with Gwendoline Christie putting in a powerful performance.

8 David Prowse ($3 Million)

David Prowse played one of the most iconic characters in the history of the movie industry, but the chances are you don’t even know what he looks like as he spent his Star Wars career with a mask on.

That’s right, David Prowse is the man behind Darth Vader, with his bodybuilding background helping him create the intimidating presence that Vader is known for having in the films.

7 Ray Park ($5 Million)

3 Hayden Christensen ($12 Million)

Hayden Christensen gets to portray a very complicated character that gets to be on both the dark and light side of the force, with the younger version of Anakin Skywalker being a hero, while he slowly morphs into a villain.

1 Andy Serkis ($28 Million)

Andy Serkis never shows his face in the Star Wars franchise, however, his voice and body acting is certainly shown as he plays Supreme Leader Snoke in both Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Last Jedi. 

Serkis is a master of motion-capture work, having played huge roles such as Gollum and King Kong, as well as being the lead role in the Dawn of the Apes franchise as he continues to break down boundaries.

Serkis’ character in Star Wars ended up being a little disappointing for many, with Snoke never really living up to the hype, but with a net worth of $28 million, at least Serkis tops this list.
