Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) has evaded justice time and again in Coronation Street, but could Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson) have what it takes to take the abuser down?

Geoff is an incredibly dangerous man, and he will do just about anything he can to take control of a situation and manipulate things to his advantage.

However, in spite of the fact that his abuse of Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is public knowledge — with own son Tim (Joe Duttine) having disowned him — he is still a free man.

Geoff crossed paths with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) this week, who proceeded to berate him for the way in which he’s treated vulnerable sex workers, and it’s safe to say he made an enemy of the abuser, as he stole his money to give to Nicky.

While Nicky and Geoff haven’t crossed paths — well, not that we know of — could Nicky have what it takes to destroy Geoff?

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, actress Kimberley Hart-Simpson said: ‘I think Nicky would think he’s catnip!

‘What he is is he’s a dangerous, calculating man, but he’s not an instant danger man. He’s a long slow burner, and I don’t think she’d have that. He wouldn’t be around long enough for him to do that to her.

‘There has to be an element of vulnerability that Yasmeen and Nicky don’t share. There is something about her, but not the malleable kind in the nicest way possible. I think she’d not be having that. No way.

‘I don’t think she’s scared of him and I don’t think Daniel is either.  I think he does that with pride.

‘Everyone is saying “He’s a dangerous man” Of course he is, but he’s not a drastic man in that he’d never do something for the public to see, because then it would blow his cover.

As mentioned earlier, Daniel has stolen Geoff’s money, and it appears as if he’s hellbent on giving it to Nicky.

Speaking about Daniel’s decision, Kimberly told us: ‘Daniel’s really getting it together. He’s really working things out here. “This isn’t just about me, there are other people in the world that are suffering.”

‘I think taking the money isn’t a crazy thing for him to do. It’s a fight for women’s rights! Fight for women that are in that industry as well. He has that conversation with Geoff about the sex workers. I think he’s pro-sex workers and wants to make a change there.

‘Anything bad that happens to Geoff — including his hoover getting smashed up! — everyone loves it, don’t they? I love that the hoover annoyed him! I was like “Go on, hoover!”’
