When will Snowpiercer be released on Netflix?

Netflix will be dropping the highly-anticipated Snowpiercer series very soon.

Snowpiercer will start airing on May 25 with the first two episodes from the show dropping on the platform.

Netflix has confirmed episodes will be dropping on a weekly basis from June 1.

There is a total of 10 episodes in the series, which has been made by US network TNT, which was also behind The Alienist.

Snowpiercer will be drip-fed to viewers because it’s not a Netflix Original with the US streaming platform having the rights to show the drama outside of North America.

The new sci-fi series will be taking its cue from the acclaimed 2013 film from Oscar winning director of Parasite Bong Joon Ho.

Snowpiercer is also based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob.

Who is in the cast of Snowpiercer on Netflix?

The series will see Oscar winner Jennifer Connelley and Daveed Diggs take the dual leads in the series.

Other cast members include Alison Wright from The Americans, Mickey Sumner, Ghostbusters actress Susan Park and Iddo Goldberg of Peaky Blinders fame.

Further casting includes Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila and and Jaylin Fletcher.

What will happen in Snowpiercer on Netflix?

The series imagines a futuristic world where the world has become a snowy wilderness.

Snowpiercer focuses on the last of humanity trying to survive by living on a train which continues to go around the world.

However, the train is divided into class and focuses on societal divisions in a microcosm.

The train has a total of 1001 carriages on which social politics and tensions play out.
