Scoob! is the upcoming 3D animated feature coming to theaters in 2020 that teases “the most challenging mystery ever” for Scooby and the gang. The upcoming film is due in theaters in May 2020 and will feature a few very recognizable voices.

Frank Welker is to voice the character of  Scooby-Doo, and Shaggy is to be voiced by both Will Forte and Iain Armitage in the upcoming movie Scoob!

Welker was born in 1946, in Colorado, and has five decades of voice acting experience under his belt. He’s even had experience within the Scooby-Doo universe, having done the voice for Fred Jones on Hanna Barbera’s Scooby-Doo Where Are You!

The veteran voice actor has also performed on Transformers, both the animated and live-action versions. In Star Trek III he provided the screams for the Spock character.

Part of the movie’s plot features a return to how Shaggy and Scooby originally meet, portraying them as a child and puppy respectively.

Child actor, Iain Armitage, born in 2008, plays the younger version of Shaggy. He is best known for his role as Ziggy in Big Little Lies and for playing the main character in Young Sheldon.

Armitage first came to the public’s attention with a role in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and has also had roles in The Glass Castle and Our Souls at Night.

Armitage announced his excitement about the role on Twitter.  Initially, Iain confused his role with the one that Frank Welker would be taking on but he quickly corrected that.
