Sansa Stark (played by Sophie Turner) is definitely not the biggest fan of Daenerys Targaryen (Emila Clarke), despite Daenerys trying to establish some form of friendship with her in episode two of Game of Thrones season eight. Game of Thrones continues this Sunday (May 4) on HBO in America and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic in the UK. This means fans of Game of Thrones will be able to watch episode four of Game of Thrones from 2am on Monday, May 6 on NOW TV and Sky Atlantic. Sky Atlantic will replay the episode at 9pm on Monday evening.

Will Sansa Stark betray Daenerys Targaryen?

At the moment, it looks highly possible that Sansa Stark will betray Daenerys Targaryen.

Although the pair are not exactly best friends, Sansa is technically on the Targaryen side and will be siding with them to defeat Cersei Lannister who is currently sitting on the Iron Throne.

The remaining three episodes are likely to follow the rivalry between Daenerys and Cersei (Lena Headey) after the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and white walkers were defeated in episode three.

The trailer for the upcoming episode also hints at the rivalry and impending battle between the two women.

WILL TYRION AND SANSA BETRAY DAENERYS?

Sansa is highly unlikely to side with Cersei, but she may betray Daenerys in a way that is much closer to home.

From the previous three episodes it has been abundantly clear that Sansa wants her cousin, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) to sit on the Iron Throne.

In episode two, Daenerys tried to establish some form of bond with Sansa, who remained very distant.

When Sansa asked Daenerys if Jon would be King of the North, Daenerys replied no and explained he could not possibly be King if she is Queen.

Daenerys then revealed that her goal is to kill Cersei and take power over Westeros.

Sansa, as the Lady of Winterfell, made very clear by her questions that she is not comfortable with being ruled by Targaryens.

However, if Sansa does not support Daenerys she does risk being killed.

WHY WAS JON SNOW SCREAMING AT THE DRAGON?

Turner herself, in an interview with 1883 magazine, teased: “What can you know… this season is bloodier than ever. It’s full of betrayal, full of war, full of danger. That’s all I can say without giving too much away.”

At the moment, Sansa does not know that Jon has a much stronger claim to the throne than Daenerys and when she finds out, it is almost guaranteed that she will back him.

Sansa is unlikely to be the only one to betray Daenerys and if she does, she is likely to be joined by Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage).

The previous three episodes of Game of Thrones have teased a very frosty relationship between Tyrion and Daenerys.

GAME OF THRONES EPISODE 4 RELEASE DATE

Daenerys even relegated Tyrion to the crypt under Winterfell despite his desire to enter the battle.

Not only that, but Jon will also have the support of the surviving houses of the North against Daenerys, leaving Daenerys powerless.

Fans of Game of Thrones have taken to Quora to air their opinions on Sansa’s potential betrayal.

One fan wrote: “I don’t think Sansa will betray Daenerys per se. I believe Sansa will serve as a catalyst to Dany’s betrayal. I feel very confident that Jon will be Dany’s final betrayal and I think he will betray her for Sansa. Jon would never choose Dany over Sansa.”

Game of Thrones season 8 airs on HBO in the US on Sundays 9pm ET and on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK on Mondays at 2am & 9pm BST
