Saffron Barker is determined to give her best performance on Strictly Come Dancing this week, after being forced to quit dance rehearsals due to ‘crippling back pain.’

The YouTube star injured herself during last week’s contemporary dance performance with AJ Pritchard, putting her Foxtrot to Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York in jeopardy after revealing that she’s unable to dance or sleep due to the pain.

But 20-year-old Saffron reassured fans that she would still be competing during this week’s show andand has no plans to give up just yet.

‘You’ve probably all seen that I’ve got injury with my back,’ the social media star wrote for her 1.3 million Instagram followers.

‘My rib has twisted and so therefore all my muscles are having spasms,’ she explained, ‘however we’re still going & I’m feeling so much better than day one & two!

‘Wouldn’t give up for anything!’

Now that’s what we like to hear.

In another clip, Saffron begged fans for their support following her particularly difficult week, saying: ‘Please, please watch this week we’ve struggled and so will need all your support but so excited for this dance [sic].’

We’re sure the YouTuber’s fans will rally behind her!

This isn’t the first time Saffron has taken a knock as AJ previously admitting to slapping the star round the face during rehearsals.

Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about the BBC show, the pair discussed how one rehearsal had gone particularly wrong.

‘He did slap me around the face,’ Saffron told the presenters, with AJ clarifying: ‘Not on purpose, obviously not on purpose.’
