Season 2 of Big Little Lies is coming in a matter of weeks, and Reese Witherspoon is seriously excited about it.
Taking to Instagram ahead of the show’s June 9 premiere, Witherspoon shared a sweet behind-the-scenes snap featuring the members of the “Monterey Five”—Witherspoon, Zoë Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Nicole Kidman.
Hugging one another in a row, or doing an impromptu conga line, with Witherspoon at the very back sitting on a chair, the actress captioned the photo, “Excuse me… whose idea was it to put the shorty on the bottom? #biglittlelies”:
All five actresses looked elated to be posing for the photo, and it’s clear that the cast of Big Little Lies seriously bonded during filming.
Season 2 already promises to be full of drama, especially with the addition of Meryl Streep as the late Perry Wright’s (Alexander Skarsgård) mother, Mary Louise Wright. Obviously, Streep’s character wants answers regarding her son’s death, which puts everyone on edge.
And if the latest trailer is anything to go by, keeping the secret of Season 1’s finale is going to be a difficult task for the gang. In the trailer, Kravitz’s Bonnie can be heard saying, “It’s gonna get us. It’s gonna get us all—the lie.”
Basically, fans should prepare for drama, as Season 2 promises to be tense.
