PIERS Morgan had a big Saturday getting his hair cut and visiting his favourite London restaurant as lockdown restrictions eased around the country.

The Good Morning Britain  host, 55, shared photos of his experience which marked his first professional hair cut in months.

The first pic in the series showed one of the hairdressers in Kensington pointing a thermometer gun towards Piers' camera as she got ready to take his temperature.

Piers donned a face mask and plastic gloves during his visit, while the hairdressers at the Daniel Galvin salon, including style director Cheryl Munoz, wore protective plastic visors.

He captioned the post: "Lovely warm welcome back at my hair salon after 4 months…. ?

"Fortunately, after having me shot, @cherylmunozhair performed her usual magic & restored my head to vaguely camera-ready status.

"Thanks Cheryl & all your wonderful staff at @danielgalvinldn Kensington. ?"

Until the professional trim, Piers had relied on his wife of 10 years, Celia Walden, to cut his hair during lockdown.

The journalist admitted the home haircuts did not always go to plan.

He said on the morning show in May: "Slight Tintin feel going on.

"There were quite a few uncomfortable 'oops' and 'oohs' but that's what we are reduced to."

TinTin is the main character from comic series The Adventures of Tintin, and famously has hair that flicks upwards at the front.

After his haircut on Saturday, Piers made the most of new Government guidelines yesterday as he enjoyed a slap up meal with cricketer Kevin Pietersen.

The two joined Brits across the country heading out to bars and restaurant for the first time since March as they were pictured at Cambio de Tercio in Kensington.

Piers was joined by Celia, while Kevin was also accompanied by his partner, Jessica Taylor.

At one point, the two men posed within two metres of each other as Piers jokingly pointed at his pal.

The TV star later documented the night on Instagram with a snap of himself and Kevin outside the fancy Spanish restaurant.

Alongside the snap, he wrote: "So nice to be back at London’s best restaurant Cambio de Tercio. Still fabulous food, delicious wine & exceptional service.

"Shame about Kevin but you can’t have everything in life. Thanks to Abel & the brilliant staff. Great to be back."

Meanwhile Kevin made fun of Piers on his own profile, calling him an "embarrassment" as he was photographed during their outing.

The night out comes hours after Kevin's Twitter was temporarily locked after he jokingly threatened to "slap" his pal.

The pair were involved in a social media spat as they discussed the reopening of pubs in England on Saturday morning.

Piers was astonished the Government decided to allow pubs to start serving again despite the threat of coronavirus remaining.

He was even more appalled by the fact that they could pull pints from 6am on a warm Saturday in July.

But former England cricket captain Kevin supported the move, citing a low death rate before labelling the presenter "fat boy".

As things escalated, though, the South African-born batsman quipped he would take a swipe at the ITV host – but the apparent joke was not well received by the social media platform.

It's certainly been a busy weekend for Piers, who started his super Saturday at Cafe Phillies London in Kensington.
