The Good Morning Britain presenter argued that Labour’s economic recovery proposals for the UK will be irrelevant if the country is forced back into a second coronavirus lockdown during a heated interview with Anneliese Dodds. Ms Dodds stated that she will outlined a plan to preserve the UK economy throughout the next wave of the coronavirus pandemic during Labour’s virtual conference today.

Mr Morgan said: “We now know that we are today going to have the two top science medical people in the country coming out presumably to prepare us for some kind of second national lockdown.

“This is a huge moment and you are going to deliver a speech at Labour’s virtual conference about how you would revive the economy.

“But if we go back into national lockdown everything you’re going to say today becomes irrelevant if there is another national lockdown that causes untold new damage to the economy.”

The Labour MP replied: “I don’t think it will be irrelevant because much of what I will be talking about is trying to preserve the UK’s economic capacity.”
