NICOLA Roberts revealed she's in disbelief over friend and bandmate Sarah Harding's death and said the last week has "been a blur".

The singer remembered a raucous night the girls had at the NME Awards as they partied with the Arctic Monkeys.

Paying tribute to Sarah a week after her death from cancer, she wrote on Instagram: "The week has been a blur. Waves of disbelief and realisation as we navigate through this.

"I wanted to show appreciation for the lovely tributes to Sarah and outpour of love we have received. Also, acknowledgment for how Sarah’s passing has affected many people who are fighting this cruel disease. My heart is with you."

In a series of three images, Sarah beamed as she struck rock 'n' roll poses beside the band's frontman Alex Turner and drummer Matt Helders.

Nicola continued: "Here is sarah in her element with the artic monkey boys at the NME awards. A habitat more natural for her than any glitzy party. The most Rock & Roll in the room. Showing the indie boys how it’s done. x"

All of the Girls Aloud stars have been deeply affected by Sarah's death. Nadine Coyle called her the "heart and soul" of the band in her own tribute this weekend.

Brave Sarah had undergone gruelling treatment to beat her breast cancer, including a mastectomy and intensive chemotherapy since first being diagnosed in summer 2020.

She had put off seeing a doctor because of the pandemic and went on to urge others not to do the same.

In March this year she revealed the devastating news that the cancer had spread to her spine and she knew she was dying.
