Netflix has given an eight-episode series order to the dramedy “Sex/Life” from “UnReal” alum Stacy Rukeyser, the streamer announced on Monday.

Based on the 2016 book “44 Chapters About 4 Men” by BB Easton, the series is described as “the story of a love triangle between a woman, her husband, and her past which takes a deliciously steamy new look at female identity and desire.”

Taking the style of a memoir, Easton’s semi-fictionalized book recounts her past romances and attempts to manipulate her husband by keeping a “secret” journal for him to read. The book later spun off a series of fully fictional novels.

Rukeyser will serve as writer, executive producer and showrunner on the series. J. Miles Dale and Larry Robins will also executive produce.

Rukeyser, whose credits include “Greek,” “October Road,” “One Tree Hill” and “The Lying Game,” most recently served as showrunner on the third and fourth seasons of Lifetime’s “UnReal.”
