NETFLIX released its terrifying new thriller Secret Obsession last night – and the people who have already watched the film are so scared, they can't sleep.

The creepy movie stars former Disney actress Brenda Song as a woman who wakes up from an accident and doesn't remember anything, not even her own husband.

But soon a series of sinister events makes her question whether her doting, over-protective hubby Russell (Bates Motel actor Mike Vogel) is really the man he says he is.

The film's tagline is: "Some secrets can't stay buried forever".

Viewers who have already devoured the jumpy flick have taken to twitter to reveal how its keeping them awake at night.

"Secret Obsession on Netflix was SO good but now I am legitimately terrified and can't sleep woo hoo!"

A second posted: "that secret obsession movie with Brenda Song got me thinking there are a lot of psychos out there… marty I'm scared."

A third weighed in: "secret obsession reminds me that I'm kind of scared of men."

A fourth added: "the secret obsession movie on netflix got me scared for my own life bitch"

Meanwhile a fifth claimed the film put her off getting married, tweeting: "I’ve always been scared about marriage cos of the stories I hear but after watching secret obsession, I actually don’t want to get married."

The movie has viewers on the edge of their seat from the get-go as it opens with lead character Jennifer (Song) running from a mystery stalker on a dark, rainy night.

She hides in the stall of a public bathroom while her terrifying gloved assailant scrapes a knife along the cubicle doors.

And while she manages to escape, she is soon mowed down by a speeding car, awakening in hospital with no memory.

It's there that doctors introduce her to her handsome other half, who she has no recollection of.

While Russell seems desperate to keep his wife safe, as the film goes on, Jennifer makes some chilling discoveries that are giving viewers goosebumps.

Of course, this isn't the only time of late that viewers have been left terrified by Netflix's offerings.

In April when the streaming service released horror film The Silence, those who watched claimed they were "too scared to cough or sleep" afterwards.

Meanwhile, others claimed they were "vomiting" after a gory mutilation scene in spooky flick The Perfection.
