Love Island has offered up many twists and turns in the aftermath of Casa Amor and Metro.co.uk is back once again to give you the ultimate guide to how compatible the current couples are.

It’s been a week full of drama in the Love Island villa. We’ve seen rows, tears, new couples emerge and old couples tested to the limits.

With the temptation of Casa Amor proving too much to resist for some, others managed to keep themselves from straying from their existing couples.

Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, who were seemingly the most solid couple, were torn apart as they both found new romance in Casa, while Gemma Owen and Luca Bish stuck with each other.

Other couples tested include Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, while Paige Thorne discovered Jacques O’Neill had been cracking on with other girls… after returning to the villa single.

Tonight, the results of a public vote asking for viewers’ favourite pairing will be announced, which is sure to lead to consequences for some of the other islanders.

But who is proving to be the strongest duo post the chaos of Casa?

Louella Alderson, a relationship expert and co-founder of dating site So Syncd, has once again provided her thoughts on exactly who are the most and least compatible pairings of the moment, exclusively for Metro.co.uk.

Gemma and Luca

Gemma and Luca came out Casa Amor on top and are definitely the most compatible couple after this week’s antics. For both of them, it was an opportunity to spend time apart and hang out with their respective girls and boys. Neither of them showed any interest in the new islanders, with Luca even sleeping on the day bed every night.

Luca was incredibly excited about Casa Amor when it was announced and was jumping all over the bed with the other boys. This made the islanders and the viewers think he was open-minded about meeting new girls, but it transpired from his argument with Dami and his actions throughout the time that he was excited for everyone else and was caught up in the moment.

Now Gemma can see Luca can be trusted and he hasn’t done anything she wouldn’t be happy with; we hope to see more of Gemma letting her guard down and opening up. This couple holds the most potential to make it to the final based on their popularity with the public and their genuine connection.

The issue that they will face on the outside, as we saw a glimpse of, is Luca’s tendency to be jealous. He didn’t like Billy flirting with her on the day beds. Gemma has given Luca no reason not to trust her and if this is a common theme in their relationship in the real world, it will push Gemma away.

Davide and Ekin-Su

Davide and Ekin-Su are the second most compatible couple this week. To the surprise of quite a few people, Davide and Ekin-Su managed to survive Casa Amor. With a few kisses from Davide’s side and a cheeky cuddle with George for Ekin-Su, they were both remarkably restrained.

Casa Amor was an opportunity for Ekin-Su to prove her loyalty and that she’s committed to giving it a proper go with Davide. And she did exactly that. The interpretation of Ekin-Su and George’s ‘cuddles’ have been divisive, but it’s clear there was nothing there and we believe it was just harmless.

It’s clear Davide and Ekin-Su have a strong connection. They both laugh and giggle more with each other than anyone else in the villa. They bring out each other’s fun and playful side. Davide can be quite quiet but around Ekin-Su he is cheeky, flirty and comes into his own. This is where the introvert-extrovert balance in relationships really works. Introverts bring the chill and togetherness and help ground extroverts. While extroverts bring the fun and excitement and push introverts out of their comfort zone.

Since the Jay saga, Ekin-Su has been open about her feelings for Davide and she realised that the connection they have is unique. She’s been clear she likes him. And, where Davide has been more guarded with his emotions previously, post-Casa Amor, it seems he has already started to open up.

Jacques and Paige

Jacques and Paige are in third place this week but that is more by default based on their history than anything else given Jacques’ behaviour the past week.

Jacques’ time throughout Casa Amor was eventful, to say the least. He went in with an open mind and with the view to ‘test’ himself. His attitude here did give the impression that he thought there could get someone better than Paige. Everyone was shocked when he chose to stick with Paige and not twist with Cheyanne.

Paige was completely faithful to Jacques throughout her time at Casa Amor. She entertained a short conversation with Billy, but she was pretty clear from the beginning that there wasn’t going to be any more than friendship between the two.

As a couple, it just doesn’t feel like this relationship would last in the outside world though. Jacques dealt with the confrontation of his actions in an immature and passive-aggressive way and he gaslighted Paige. Jacques is toxic and manipulative and there are a lot of red flags surrounding his behaviour. It can be hard to trust someone like that in real life. Toxic people will often try to talk their way out of things. They use manipulation, denial, or even guilt to try and get you to forgive them or to take the blame for their actions. They can also convince you that what they did was not really that bad, or that you are overreacting. Jacques exhibited this form of behaviour and it’s important Paige watches out for this.

Paige doesn’t need that toxicity in a relationship and she deserves better… but she has deep feelings for Jacques and something tells us there’s a high chance that she will forgive him.

Tasha and Billy

Tasha and Billy are another couple in the early stages that we didn’t see too much of during Casa Amor. Tasha was already having doubts about her connection with Andrew after they were voted in the bottom three twice. Plus, she had her head turned by most new male bombshells so it’s no surprise that she came back with someone else.

Tasha felt that Billy was offering her something Andrew wasn’t. She felt more herself with him. She felt she was fiercer and was her ‘sassy self’ again. In a relationship, it’s important to be with someone you can be yourself with and who brings out the best in you. It helps if they make you laugh too. We’ve said since the beginning that Tasha and Andrew were missing a sexual spark, so this recoupling and realisation that something is missing isn’t a surprise.

Billy had his eyes on Paige at first but after she friend-zoned him, he turned his attention to Tasha. Billy was working hard to get into the main villa and his true intentions are still unclear. Luca made the point that he went for Tasha as an easy option and now he’s flirting with Gemma.

It feels like the door could be completely closed for Tasha and Andrew which will leave Tasha to be more open-minded about her relationship with Billy.

Dami and Summer

Dami’s behaviour in Casa Amor is one of the biggest shocks of the series so far. After being besotted by Indiyah, Dami went into Casa Amor with a fully open mind and he was evidently very excited about the whole experience.

Dami says he has a good connection with both Summer and Indiyah. We didn’t see a lot between Summer and Dami but they seemed to have a physical connection as they spend the evenings cuddling and kissing in bed together.

When Dami realised Indiyah didn’t kiss Deji at all he began to feel guilty and knew that his actions were worse than how Indiyah had behaved which prompted Dami to pull her for a chat. However, Dami started the chat with Indiyah by saying I miss your eyes. It feels like Dami could end up regretting his decision to recouple and he wants to carry on getting to know Summer whilst also talking to Indiyah.

It’s normal to want to date and get to know different people at the same time. But if you want to date more than one person, it’s best to be honest and open about it and have that conversation when the time is right. If Dami is being honest and respectful to both Indiyah and Summer, then it could work for a short period of time. However, there comes a point with any relationship where you need to decide how committed you are, and to whom you are committed in this case.

As Dami said, ‘Summer is not over… in fact, it’s just getting started.’

Indiyah and Deji

Just like Dami, Indiyah recoupling in Casa Amor was another surprise given the strong connection she and Dami had. After their talks of future trips to Ireland and meeting each other’s family, it felt like Dami and Indiyah had the potential to go far on their Love Island journey together.

After Casa Amor, Indiyah chose to recouple with Deji. We didn’t get to see a lot from this couple but it was evident from the beginning of the Casa Amor days that these two were drawn to each other. Even though Indiyah had a connection with Deji, she remained respectful to Dami and she didn’t get intimate with Deji. This shows a strong character from Indiyah. She is loyal and kind and whomever she ends up with will be a lucky guy.

From the flirty conversation and cheeky smiles, it feels like Dami and Indiyah have some unfinished business. We’re intrigued to see where this love square with Dami, Indiyah, Summer and Deji ends up. May the best heartbreaker win.

Jay and Chyna

We didn’t see much from this couple at all, but Jay was practically single upon entering Casa Amor and had a guilt-free pick of the six girls. The fact we didn’t really see much from Jay and Chyna is probably because there wasn’t much to see.

Jay knew there was pressure on him to find someone and he was most attracted to Chyna. However, since returning to the villa, Jay has said he is not feeling like himself and he was faking connections for the sake of it. Of course, there’s a chance that Jay hasn’t connected with someone yet. As much as some people hit it off instantly in the Love Island villa, there’s a high chance that others won’t connect with anyone. In the outside world, it can take a lot of time, effort and meeting different people before you find that deep connection. Being true to himself, Jay friend-zoned Chyna which was the right thing to do. This showed that Jay is genuine and respectful and it’s refreshing to see.

Danica and Josh

This is another couple we haven’t seen too much of. Danica’s prayers were answered this week when there were six new boys in Casa Amor to choose from. As she likes to remind everyone, she’s had a bit of a rollercoaster in the villa so far.

Danica connected with Josh the most out of the Casa Amor boys. They were flirty from the beginning and they seem to match each other’s energy which is a good start. It will be interesting to see how this couple progresses. One thing is for sure when it comes to Danica, she isn’t afraid to put herself out there, try new things and take a risk, which you need to do in a place like Love Island.

Andrew and Coco

The least compatible couple has to be Andrew and Coco. It’s safe to say, from an outsider’s perspective, that the connection between Andrew and Coco didn’t feel real from the very beginning. It felt more like Andrew had a bruised ego and broken heart from the information he was being fed, and Coco wanted to stay on Love Island so she got in there quickly. As of Friday night’s episode, this became even more apparent.

Andrew friend-zoned Coco and wanted to carry on with Tasha if she was keen. Coco did not react well to this and told Tasha exactly what happened between them as she felt used.

Andrew lied about what he did with Coco which is never a good thing. It shows that he knew he was in the wrong with his behaviour during the Casa Amor days and he felt guilty about this. Coco and Andrew’s Love Island journey together has come to an end and it feels like Andrew and Tasha’s journey might be over too.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
