Love Island’s Adam Collard finally addressed the reason behind his return to the show.

Series eight of the annual dating programme presented several twists and turns, however, the former bombshell’s arrival had everyone shook.

The personal trainer left the villa before the final with Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne, and the couple have been going from strength to strength since their Love Island stint, splitting time between Newcastle and Swansea.

Many fans have speculated the reason behind Adam’s return, with some claiming producers were setting up a ‘redemption arc.’

Lifting the lid over his 2022 comeback, he said that while him and his girlfriend Paige ‘are flying right now’ everyone who knows about Love Island is aware of the financial opportunities it could bring

‘You are getting a few followers, if you have a business like me it’s going to help amplify that and that put you in a better situation and there’s going to be loads of really good opportunities afterwards,’ he said during his latest YouTube video.

‘So yes, everyone comes on and says I am here to find love and that, yes you kind of are and obviously that is unreal but nobody is daft.’

‘Everyone has seen Molly-Mae absolutely smash the hell out of life and to be fair she has smashed the hell out of her relationship [with Tommy Fury] as well but even if you can get a little piece of that, if you have been in the villa for long enough, you know you are going to be pretty set up for life,’ he added.

While they didn’t make things official during their time on the show, Paige and Adam seem to have grown closer outside the villa, with Adam recently talking about making Paige his girlfriend.

He told On Demand Entertainment: ‘The only time where we got to sit on the sofa. It was only us for the first time.

‘I was like, “right, I need to ask you now because it’s not for anyone’s benefit, apart from mine and yours. I do really want you to be my girlfriend.”‘

And it looks like Adam has made some famous friends this time round, after revealing he FaceTimed superfans Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne following his villa exit.

‘Laura was like, “My friends want to meet you and Paige, will you FaceTime them?”, so I was like, “Yeah, yeah” and I FaceTimed them,’ he confessed.

‘Paige was in the toilet so I jumped on myself. She was like, “These are my two friends,” so I was talking to them for a couple of minutes.

‘They looked like they were in Mexico or Bali or somewhere like that, the connection was really bad and they were getting cut off.

‘Just before they cut off Laura was just ready to end the call and the penny dropped – it was Margot Robbie and Cara Delevigne.’

He added: ‘I could not believe it.’

Love Island is available to stream on ITV Hub.
