Love Island is back with its winter version for 2023, where a fresh batch of hot young singletons entered the expansive villa in South Africa.

Maya Jama, 28, is the host for the new series, and fans of Love Island were quick to share their thoughts on her debut, especially after ITV2 announced a brand new twist where the show's viewers are able to vote for a new bombshell to enter the villa, just as the original Islanders have settled in.

The boys were the first to enter the villa this year, and they were all full of compliments as new host Maya entered the villa to start proceedings.

Maya has made her debut on the popular ITV2 show, taking over the reins from former host, Laura Whitmore, who quit after presenting the show for three years.

New host Maya got to know the new boys before introducing the first new girl Tanya, who got the pick of the boy that she fancies before the rest of the girls arrived into the villa.

As the rest of the girls followed, here's who ended up with who in the the show's first official coupling…

Tanya and Shaq

Biomedical science student Tanya was the first girl to enter the villa, as Shaq was the first guy to step forward to show his attraction to her. Tanya ended up chosing Shaq to couple up with.

Lana and Ron

Blonde Lana certainly turned heads as she entered the Love Island villa, with Will and Ron stepping forward, before she ultimately chose to couple up with Ron.

Tanyel and Kai

Kai was the flavour of the day, as newcomer Anna-May chose to couple up with him, as did Olivia, before he controversially stepped forward for Tanyel, as the pair became another new couple.

Anna-May and Haris

After Kai ditched her in favour of Tanyel, Anna-May was left to choose between Haris and Will, thus forming Love Island's fourth couple.

Olivia and Will

Olivia and Will ended up as the last two singletons on the show, leaving them as the last couple of the first five of the new series.

At the end of the show, bombshell Tom Clare entered the villa after the public voted for him to join the ITV2 show.

The year's contestants weren't the only new faces on Love Island this year as Maya Jama made her highly anticipated hosting debut.

The brunette beauty appeared to go down a storm with viewers as some labelled the 28 year old as being "made" for the show.

“maya jama was made for this #LoveIsland”, penned one viewer, as someone else said: “Watching Love Island for Maya & Maya ONLY”.

A third wrote: “Maya presenting #LoveIsland just fits, in a way nobody else has.”

Echoing similar sentiments, another went on: “Full blown obsessed with Maya Jama. She's perfect for this show! and THAT was an entrance strut”.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
