KATIE Price’s boyfriend Carl Woods has today opened up about his sweet relationship with Harvey, revealing they FaceTime when they're apart.

The 31-year-old has been dating the former glamour model, 42, since last June and since then has grown very close to her eldest son.

Last week Katie revealed she made the tough decision to move Harvey into residential care in order for him to become more independent.

Speaking about this decision, Carl told Closer magazine: “It’s a chance to give Harvey some independence as he develops into a young adult.

"He doesn’t like change because of his autism but, thankfully, he has really warmed to me.

He went on to add that Harvey likes to video chat with him, so that they can stay in touch: "When we’re together in the same room, he will choose to sit by me, and when we’re not together, he’ll FaceTime me.

“It’s nice that he feels comfortable enough to do that. Katie appreciates it, too.

"She’s protective of all her kids and loves them all equally, but Harvey is more vulnerable so she is extra cautious over how he is feeling.”

Harvey was born with the rare disorder septo-optic dysplasia, which affects brain function, hormones and vision, plus autism.

He is now being moved to a care home, so that his needs can be met.

At 6ft 2in and almost 29st, it is too hard for 5ft 4in Katie to calm or restrain him, because Harvey’s autism means loud noises and slamming doors can cause him to lash out unpredictably, headbutting walls and smashing windows.

Katie and Carl recently surprised the teenager with a gift at his new long-term living accommodation National Star College in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

He was over the moon when they revealed they'd sourced him a huge new bed.

Katie also asked her oldest son: "Do you know why you've got this bed? Because you're not a boy anymore you're a …."

Harvey proudly answered: "A man".

His TV star mum added: "And this is a man's bed".

"This is going to be amazing," Harvey replied as he sat back down on the bed.

Katie has raised disabled Harvey mostly as a single mother, and decided to move him into a residential college to teach him how to live a more independent life and learn new skills.
