JEREMY Vine viewers have ripped into one of today's panelists over her controversial views.

During the latest instalment of the Channel 5 morning current affairs programme, journalist Angela Epstein joined the panel.

She was alongside broadcaster and royal commentator Emily Andrews.

However, viewers were left raging when conversation soon turned to the impending postal strike action.

Royal Mail has announced that industrial action will take place for a total of 19 days between now and the run up to Christmas.

As presenter Jeremy, 57, opened discussion on the strike to the panellists, Angela shocked viewers with her opinion.

The journalist suggested that striking should be abolished completely – and even rolled her eyes as Emily said posties "work really hard".

"I think this is appalling," declared Angela, adding: "It's shocking, we need to end the tyranny of the unions."

She said striking inflicts "massive misery on blameless members of the public".

Viewers ripped her apart online following her controversial comments, as one said: "You get enough to live on Angela and if you didn’t and decided to stand up for your rights, I would support you, but you are a Tory and only support yourself, shameful b****."

Another said: "'We need to end the unions' Says that f***ing Ghoul Angela Epstein. Shes such a horrible human being."

Other viewers spoke of their experiences with posties – including some who have family members working for Royal Mail.

"Don’t know about you Angela but my Postman is fab. They walk miles every day delivering post. Often in weather that bad I wouldn’t put the bin out in!Fully support their decision to strike," said one viewer.

Another posted: "My daughter is a post woman and works part time hours so took another job which she was able to do with her work pattern, they want to make her work the same hours but over more days which would mean she would have to give up one of her jobs its not all about money."

Jeremy Vine airs weekday mornings from 9:15am on Channel 5.
