The actress portraying a deadly assassin in the Netflix film is photographed boarding a private plane back to the states after the Gran Canaria set of her new project is shut down due to the outbreak.

AceShowbiz –Jennifer Lopez is going back to the states. The “On The Floor” hitmaker is spotted leaving Spain after the Gran Canaria set of her new film “The Mother” was shut down due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

In photos obtained by Page Six, the actress portraying a deadly assassin in the Netflix film was seen boarding a private plane back to the U.S. In the pictures, the 52-year-old actress, who’s also the producer of the film, was seemingly trying to keep a low profile as she wore a faux fur vest over a cream-colored cardigan, sweatpants and fuzzy slides with socks. She also kept her hair untied and covered her face with a face mask and a pair of sunglasses.

The majority of her project has been shot in Canada, where J.Lo was shooting scenes prior to the new year. The film, which is set to premiere in 2022, is centered around an assassin who comes out of hiding to protect her daughter while evading dangerous assailants. The deadly thriller also stars Joseph Fiennes, Gael Garcia Bernal and Omari Hardwick.

“The Mother” is one of many projects forced to pause production amid the recent spike in COVID-19 cases. Several television shows, including “Grey’s Anatomy“, “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Chicago Fire“, have reportedly put production on hold as the omicron variant continues to spread.

Filming for “NCIS: Los Angeles” has now been pushed back to February after originally being scheduled to resume this month, according to TVLine. The delay shouldn’t impact on-air scheduling, per the report.

Uncertainties surrounding the latest COVID-19 surge have also led the Recording Academy and CBS to postpone the 2022 Grammy Awards, which was originally slated to air at the end of January. A new date for the annual event has yet to be set.

“Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks,” a statement released on January 5 read. “We look forward to celebrating music’s biggest night on a future date, which will be announced soon.”
