The world is loving ABC‘s new sitcom, Abbott Elementary. The show, which comes from the mind of Quinta Brunson, revolves around a group of teachers at a Philadelphia public school as they try to help their students succeed. The network has only aired nine episodes, but fans are hooked and hungry for more. So can they expect Abbott Elementary Season 1 Episode 10 to air tonight, March 15?

‘Abbott Elementary’ is not on tonight, March 15

Unfortunately, the tenth episode of Abbott Elementary will not premiere tonight, March 15, on ABC. Instead, the two-hour finale of The Bachelor will take up the sitcom’s usual timeslot.

There is good news, however. Fans only have to wait one more week for a new episode of Abbott Elementary. The comedy returns with episode 10 on March 22. Plus, ABC is airing two re-runs of Abbott Elementary back-to-back following The Bachelor finale tonight at 10 p.m. ET, if fans are looking for some much-needed serotonin.

Everything we know about ‘Abbott Elementary’ Season 1 Episode 10, which doesn’t air tonight

While Abbott Elementary does not air tonight, fans can look forward to episode 10 in the meantime. Per IMDb, the next episode is titled “Open House,” which Jennifer Celotta directed, and Quinta Brunson and Brian Rubenstein co-wrote.

The synopsis of “Open House” reads, “It’s Open House night at Abbott Elementary, and while Janine prepares to meet her struggling student’s mother, the rest of the faculty uses the time to relax. Gregory is taken aback when he learns how Ava got the principal job, and, later, Barbara’s daughter’s visit creates a commotion in more ways than one.”

Following “Open House,” only three episodes remain in Abbott Elementary Season 1. But, thankfully, fans don’t have to worry about ABC canceling the hit series.

ABC renewed the sitcom for season 2

While fans will be sad to learn that Abbott Elementary is not new tonight, they can rejoice in knowing that ABC renewed the show for a second season.

The sitcom’s Twitter page cheekily announced the exciting news with a memo written by Principal Ava Coleman. The statement reads:

“Faculty and Students (aka My Fans) –

The camera crew I hired to showcase all that I’ve made happen at our beautiful school thinks I’m a star. I mean, are we surprised? No, we’re not 🙂 With that said, it is with great pleasure that I share they’ll be returning for the 2022-2023 school year! That’s right – Abbott Elementary Season Two is coming to a screen near you.

Despite my being a natural in front of the camera, these things don’t come easy for free, and my staff is having trouble seeing all of my unleashed potential! Something about needing supplies? Anywho, I could use your help getting them (Janine) off my back. If you’re interested in supporting them and our community of young mind shapers, please visit DonorsChoose.org.

I also welcome spa credits and gift cards over $100 on the heels of this thrilling announcement. I also have all major money transfer apps if you wanna go that route.

Love, Light and all of that stuff.

Principal Ava Coleman

Abbott Elementary Season 1 returns with new episodes on Tuesday, March 22, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
