I'M A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has just evicted the first celebrity from the new series with Charlene White heading home.

Like every year, drama is unleashed in the camp when the public are given the chance to vote to save their favourite celebs.

But that's nothing new for the long-running ITV competition, which has seen a number of shocking eliminations over 22 series.

From Rebekah Vardy's early exit to a surprise double axing, here we look back on some of the most shocking eliminations.

Shock double elimination

In 2019, I'm A Celeb fans were left in shock as TWO of the celebrities were evicted from the jungle camp in one swipe by Ant and Dec.

Caitlyn Jenner and Nadine Coyle were voted off the TV show – marking two huge personalities walking away from the camp.

Caitlyn, now 73, broke down in tears as she reflected on the challenge of being in the jungle at the age of 70.

Fans were in shock as they had thought the former Olympian would make it all the way to the final, but was voted out in the middle.

She was joined by Girls Aloud singer Nadine, 37, as the pair crossed the iconic jungle bridge one after the other.

It's not the only time that the show has had a double elimination – as a brutal double vote off saw Beverley Callard and Victoria Derbyshire axed together in 2020.

Then last year, Olympian Matty Cash and EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt left in another double elimination in the middle of the vote-offs.

Celebrity tears and tantrums

The eliminations often leave the campmates emotional – with one double axing causing Scarlett Moffatt to break down in tears.

The former Gogglebox star was left sobbing after it was announced Wayne Bridge and Martin Roberts had been eliminated in 2016.

She looked to be in complete shock as she made her way back into camp and pressed a hand to her forehead.

She crumbled and began to tear up as she cried: "I can't believe I'm still here! I'm just so overwhelmed."

Elsewhere, the 2020 series saw the entire camp break down in tears as Hollie Arnold was voted off in another emotional elimination.

Waving goodbye to wannabe winners

Fans have sometimes been shocked by the choice of celebs being eliminated from the show in unexpected turns.

In 2017, viewers were gobsmacked when Rebekah Vardy became the third celebrity to be voted off the show.

She was voted by the public to leave the jungle after going up against Saturday's Vanessa White in the stand off.

Many I'm A Celeb fans had expected the WAG to go all the way in the competition – but was sent home after just over a week in the camp.

Elsewhere, viewers were gobsmacked when football legend David Ginola missed out on the final three celebs last year.

Frankie Bridge, Simon Gregson and Danny Miller sailed through to the final – as David waved goodbye after being axed by viewers.
