So here’s how to watch Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 this week and beyond, including the live show time and Hulu release.
What time and how long is the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘Station 19’ crossover tonight?
As mentioned, Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 return to ABC starting Thursday, Nov. 12. The Station 19 Season 4 premiere will kick off the 3-hour-long crossover event at 8 p.m. ET. Then the two-hour Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 premiere will begin at 9 p.m. ET and end at 11 p.m. ET. But of course, check your local listings for any changes.
Meanwhile, don’t expect a Shondaland takeover every week. All-new episodes of Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy will continue to air on Thursday night. However, they’ll resume their usual time slots with hour-long episodes. The firefighter spinoff will be on at 8 p.m. ET. Then the flagship series will air at 9 p.m. ET, and A Million Little Things will start at 10 p.m. ET.

Accordion to Hulu, the Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 premieres will be available to watch on Friday, Nov. 13. So fans can expect to catch new episodes the day after the original air date. Typically, the streaming service adds ABC shows by 9 a.m. ET the next morning.
What to expect from the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 17 and ‘Station 19’ Season 4 crossover premiere
Both Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 left fans on multiple cliffhangers last season. So hopefully, viewers will receive some answers on Nov. 12. And when speaking with TVLine in November 2020, Jaina Lee Ortiz (Andy Herrera) revealed that’s exactly what Station 19 fans will receive in the season 4 premiere. The actor shared the new season will not only address her character’s mother, Elena (Patricia De León), but also the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Everyone wants answers. You’ll definitely get them in the premiere, I guarantee you,” Ortiz said. “They may not be what you expect. But it’ll definitely be something huge and dramatic and, obviously, very traumatic because [Elena’s ‘resurrection’ is] not the only… elephant in the room. COVID-19 is a huge part of the storyline.”
Meanwhile, the Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 premiere will provide also some answers. Back in September 2020, showrunner Krista Vernoff shared storylines leftover from season 16 will be addressed when new episodes return.
“We are not working to protect stories we had [planned] for the end of Season 16. That said, you will get to see some of the immediate moments from where we left off,” Vernoff told TVLine. “There was great material that we had already shot but did not get a chance to air. We found a way to build it into our premiere.”
Then when speaking with Entertainment Weekly in November, Vernoff explained why Grey’s Anatomy will focus on the pandemic this season. “This pandemic is breaking people, it’s breaking doctors, and we have an opportunity to help drive home the costs to the medical community,” she said.
Nevertheless, it seems the new season still aims to provide fans with some escapism. “We’re still giving you laugh-out-loud funny moments and romance,” Vernoff said.
