GWEN Stefani and fiance Blake Shelton, who recently announced their engagement, have been negotiating a prenup “for months.”

The singers revealed last week that they plan to get married, and Blake, 44, custom-designed a $500,000 ring for the No Doubt singer, 51, and "asked permission from her dad before" proposing.

Before they get hitched, the Voice coaches want a prenuptial agreement in place to iron out who currently has what assets and who will get what should they ever get divorced.

A source told Us Weekly: “They have been in prenup talks for a few months. The process has been extremely effortless.”

So far, there have been “no hiccups or outrageous demands” during the discussions, but the prenup hasn’t yet been finalized.

The insider added: “These are two mature adults that love each other.”

Still, the source said Gwen “just can’t afford to not have [a prenup] with Blake” because she didn’t have one with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, and she doesn’t want to make the same mistake.

The exes were married from 2002 to 2016 and share three kids – sons Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6.

Blake, who has no kids of his own, was previously married to Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.

Throughout his five-year romance with Gwen, he’s gotten close with her kids, especially after they all isolated together at his Oklahoma ranch for months at the start of the pandemic.

“Those boys look up to Blake in a big way,” a source shared a few months ago. “He’s earned their respect as a father figure. He’s gone from being their friend to being a serious parental influence.”

They all recently moved into their new Los Angeles, California home, after Gwen and Blake bought it last year, and are “truly happy as a family.”

Blake set out to make things a bit more official and “surprised” Gwen with a proposal.

A source told People: "Gwen is ecstatic. The proposal was a surprise.

"Gwen and Blake kept the proposal quiet for a few days, but were very excited to share."

Another insider told Us Weekly: "Blake is just ready to be married and wants it to ha

They went on: "Don’t be surprised if it happens by the end of the year."

The proposal was also very traditional, with Blake getting "down on one knee in his native Oklahoma."

Gwen announced their engagement on Tuesday, flashing her new diamond stunner and sharing a kiss with the country star.

She also added the caption: "Yes, please!"

Blake shared the same picture in his social media accounts and wrote: "Hey Gwen, thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!"
