THE Great British Bake Off’s secure filming bubble was a non-stop party, insiders say.

The Channel 4 show took over a luxury hotel for six weeks to be Covid-safe and make sure stars and staff were not pinged.

But sources say judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith plus hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding joined staff at the bar almost nightly.

Paul’s girlfriend Melissa Spalding was also there for two weeks, crew said.

Noel, 48, and his wife, radio DJ Lliana Bird, 40, are said to have put on an “indie festival” for staff, with partying into the early hours at posh Down Hall Hotel, Herts.

Matt also hosted a quiz — and Paul showed off his skills with nunchucks.

Hundreds of workers on the show had to stay on site once they arrived in early June — with cleaners, security guards and medics ensuring the crew remained Covid-free.

One source said: “Some nights we all went to the hotel bar and there was music playing and we carried on partying.”

The Sun understands no rules were broken by the Bake Off team during the filming schedule.

Love Productions and Channel 4 were contacted for comment.
