Good Morning Britain 's Piers Morgan has hinted that he might not be on the show next year as his contract hasn't been negotiated yet.

He and co-host Susanna Reid were discussing the news that the show will be extended by 30 minutes next year in an ITV schedule shake-up.

Piers said: "The show has been extended until 9 o’clock and let’s just say I haven’t been secured for that period yet."

Susanna responded: "This is when you do your contract negotiations live on air."

Charlotte Hawkins chipped in: "So you might just get up at half-past eight and go?"

Piers replied: "Well it depends if the public wants me or not."

Looks like Piers might not be on the show in the new year…

The presenter became caught between two rival petitions, as one wanted him to be sacked from the show, and the other wanted him to stay.

Piers was thrilled as the stay petition overtook the original leave petition, but his joy was short-lived.

He was left fuming by the show's own poll, as the social media page asked viewers whether they wanted him to stay or go.

The poll soon pointed to fans wanting him to go, and a furious Piers branded them all "snowflakes".

From 6 January 2020, Good Morning Britain will be extended by half an hour to run from 6am until 9am – that’s three whole hours of Piers Morgan (should he stick around).

Lorraine will move to 9am, and will be followed by This Morning at 10am, extended by 30 minutes, before Loose Women at 12.30pm, ending at 1.30pm.

GMB continues tomorrow at 6am on ITV.
