FRIENDS star Vincent Ventresca is unrecognisable more than 25 years on from his debut as Fun Bobby.

The 55-year-old actor appeared in the first and second seasons of the hit sitcom as the on-off boyfriend of Monica Geller (Courteney Cox).

Fun Bobby was always expected to be the life and soul of the party, but more often than not, he brought everyone down.

In season one, it was because his grandfather had died, which put a dampener on Monica's New Year's Eve party, while in season two it turns out he is an alcoholic and only fun when he's been boozing.

Despite only appearing a handful of times in the earlier seasons of Friends from 1994-1996, Fun Bobby has remained a memorable character for fans around the world.

Fast forward more than 25 years and Vincent still has his handsome chiseled features, but Fun Bobby's floppy long hair has been replaced by a shorter, spikey hair style.

Vincent has continued to act, appearing in a number of American TV series including Boston Common, Prey, The Invisible Man and Complete Savages.

His most recent roles have included Wicked City and The Fosters, as well as guest roles in Nashville and Criminal Minds.

Vincent previously recalled his experience on Friends, telling The Guardian: "I was starstruck by David Schwimmer (Ross).

"Of course, the girls were incredible and you sort of fell in love with them. But David was the one I desperately wanted to like me; and he was the one most not interested in meeting anyone.”

He added of filming a scene with Matt Le Blanc and Matthew Perry: "If the audience didn’t laugh, we’d huddle together and Matthew Perry would say, ‘What if we tried this?’ And Matt LeBlanc would say, ‘Yeah!'

"And we’d break again and do the scene. It was like being at a football game.”

Vincent would later reunite on screen with Friends star Lisa Kudrow in the film Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
