Rhona Goskirk (played by Zoe Henry) and Kim Tate (Claire King) were thrown into being allies last week when Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather) involved them both in the kidnap of Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and her son Johnny. While Rhona thought they had put their differences aside after sharing the same harrowing experience, tonight’s Emmerdale proved otherwise. And viewers were left questioning Kim’s behaviour.

Last month, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) was killed by Pierce in huge whodunit storyline.

The night of his murder was the night before he and Rhona were due to move to France with her son Leo – something Kim knew about.

Since his death, Kim and Rhona have been at loggerheads with one another, with the latter accusing the former of ordering Graham’s death.

Naturally, as Graham’s wife, Kim has all the power of the decisions made regarding his body and the funeral, something of which irks Rhona.

During tonight’s episode, the funeral directors contacted Kim to make arrangements for Graham’s service.

“The undertakers have just rung said he was returning your call. why didn’t you tell me Graham’s body had been released?” Kim’s son Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) asked.

“Because you’d really be interested?” Kim replied but he continued: “I guess you’ve already started organising the funeral then?”

“That’s generally what happens next,” the Home Farm owner remarked sarcastically.

“Why don’t you let me help? We could do it together You’re not [fine] mum I can see that, you don’t have to put on a brave face for me,” Jamie said but Kim was adamant: “Thanks for yesterday, it was good to talk. Sometimes it’s better to do stuff on my own.”

Later on, Jamie bumped into Rhona and told her about the status of Graham’s funeral, understandably Rhona was furious she hadn’t been informed or asked to help and it wasn’t long before she marched up to the manor house and demanded an answer.

“Jamie told me that they’ve released Graham’s body, I take it you’ve only just found out yourself?” Rhona asked and Kim replied: “Not exactly, the funeral’s next Wednesday.”

“Oh, right, but you were going to let me know?” Rhona continued.

“Doesn’t seem like I need to when my son can do it for me,” Kim exclaimed.

“Sorry, I got the vibe you were going to keep me posted. Maybe I thought you could use the support?” Rhona explained.

Kim then classed Rhona as her “husband’s girlfriend”, nothing more than Graham’s “latest fad, the likes of which [she] has seen come and go more than [she’s] had eaten breakfast”.

Infuriated by these remarks, Rhona shouted back: “Hang on! We loved each other and yes maybe you knew him for long, but I knew him better. Look I’m sorry, I didn’t come here for this stupid, petty, one-upmanship. We’re both upset, and I’m not asking for much, just at the service if I could say a few words?”

The ladies were then interrupted by Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) who acted as a mediator.

“Kim you can’t shut me out about this. Face it, given the choice, Graham would want me to do his funeral,” Rhona argued. “I just want some input, I’m not asking to take over.”

“Sounds fair to me,” Andrea interjected. “Graham’s dead Kim, if there’s ever a time to move on it’s now.”

“I will respect whatever you have planned ok?” Rhona begged. “Please don’t do this.”

“Fine, ok, I’ll ring you, we’ll talk tomorrow,” Kim finally agreed before walking into her living room and looking pensively.

Those watching at home were suspicious of Kim’s comments and took to Twitter to discuss.

One said: “Kim will probably have the funeral behind Rhonas back #Emmerdale.”

“What’s Kim got planned!!! #emmerdale,” another added.

A third wrote online: “Kim’s gonna have Graham cremated asap… #Emmerdale.”
