Emmerdale teenager Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) puts herself in danger next week as her behaviour spirals out of control.

Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) reminds Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) not to let the B&B interfere with his responsibilities to Cathy in upcoming scenes.

However, a distracted Bob fails to pick up on Cathy’s behaviour.

The kids are off to a gig but Cathy has no intention of being chaperoned by Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) so puts her plan into action.

The teenagers are concerned by Cathy’s reckless behaviour.

When she puts her own life in danger, Bob realises she needs proper help.

Emmerdale viewers have praised Cathy’s "relatable" new storyline in recent weeks.

Cathy recently sparked concern after she lost it in a violent outburst and decided to smash up her twin brother Heath’s guitar after raging at Bob in the café.

The schoolgirl was forced to reveal what was troubling her after Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) caught her skipping school.

Bernice spotted Cathy washing her skirt in the sink at home and the youngster confided in Bernice and told her that she’s suffering from heavy periods.

Bernice offered her support and advice to Cathy but the youngster begged her not to tell anyone, especially Bob, about what's going on.

Cathy promised Bernice that she’ll talk to Manpreet about how to manage her symptoms.

Viewers have praised Emmerdale for introducing a storyline that has now prompted a number of fans to open up on their real-life experiences.

One fan wrote on social media: "Great and emotional storyline. Hope it's been helpful for some young ladies. Not always an easy subject to discuss with your parents. I hope boys take note of this too.”

Another commented: "Already love Cathy's storyline. so relatable for anyone on their period and it's acted so well as a young teenager myself it's great to see periods talked about, especially with how they impact education, the stress we experience thank you @emmerdale."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
