EastEnders fans are convinced Phil Mitchell is being bullied in prison after a series of clues on the latest episode of the BBC soap.

Viewers of the BBC One soap saw Kat Slater and Phil’s sister Sam Mitchell pay him a visit in the clink to discuss a business deal after Ruby’s went up for sale, with Sam keen to put an offer in and buy the club.

As Sam tried her best to convince Kat and Phil to go along with the plan, Phil appeared to wince in pain throughout the chat, and brush off concerns from his visitors.

On several occasions Phil could be seen making eye contact with another prisoner at a nearby table, as the two large men shot dead-eye stares his way.

The unusual encounters left fans theorising about what Phil is hiding, with many convinced he is being bullied behind bars.

“omg phil’s being bullied in prison #eastenders,” said one viewer.

A second agreed: “Phil has been bullied in prison and that other bloke has something to do with it.”

While a third added: “Phil got a beating, hasn’t he.”

Elsewhere on the episode Sam learns that her ex has dumped all of her stuff in the square, causing her to miss a meeting and miss out on purchasing Ruby's.

Chelsea and Sam bond at the club, but when Kat finds out what happened, she warns Sam that Phil will not be happy.

Janine is horrified to learn from Sonia Fowler that Scarlett was unintentionally left out in the cold all night.

Scarlett was locked out of Janine's home after she found out she would not be leaving the Square for Australia.

Janine and Mick decide to surprise her with a butterfly walk, although Mick was unable to attend when Linda calls him about an issue with Ollie.

The snub leaved Janine feeling dejected, and while she struggles with her jealousy, Sonia points out that Mick’s priority will always be his children, and she has to be okay with that.

Viewers also saw a distraught Ben spear devastated when Callum's poster is unveiled.

Things then get even worse when Ben discovers that the poster has been vandalised with a target drawn on his face and he sets off looking for revenge.
