Sharon Mitchell (played by Letitia Dean) was left devastated when her son Denny (Bleu Landau) drowned after the Queen Vic boat party ended in disaster. EastEnders fans know Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is partly responsible for his death after he locked the teen in a room on the boat and failing to get him out in time. However, to protect his relationship with Sharon, Ian has harboured the dark secret.

When EastEnders returned to screens in September after a brief hiatus, Dotty Cotton (Molly Conlin) exposed Ian’s secret to Sharon.

Fortunately for Ian, Sharon dismissed Dotty claims and took the side of her old friend.

But with tensions rising between Ian and Sharon after the barmaid rejected his advances, it seems like things are about to come to a head.

After being absent from the BBC soap, Ian will return and it looks as though his guilt is getting the better of him.

Photos from the set of EastEnders show Ian and Sharon reuniting at the side of Denny’s grave.

Things quickly escalate between the pair as onlookers have reported seeing the actors embroiled in a blazing row.

Could Ian have just confessed to playing a part in Denny’s death?

If he does, what will Sharon do? Wanting revenge, she could threaten the life of Ian’s son Bobby Beale (Clay Milner-Russell).

Filming snaps also show Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) arriving at his stepson’s grave.

The hard man could be seen holding a bunch of flowers before putting them down by Denny’s grave stone.

It’s not long before Sharon is involved in another shouting match this time with Phil.

Could she reveal to Phil that Ian was responsible for Denny’s death?

That could certainly be the case, as Phil was later spotted storming off, leaving Sharon in tears as she continues to grieve for her son.

Speaking of actor Adam’s return to EastEnders as Ian, a TV insider told Daily Star Sunday: “Adam is already tackling some emotional scenes.

“The tragedy of Denny’s death is still very raw for both Sharon and Ian.

“Ian blames himself for what happened, so there’s a lot of emotion there.”

Elsewhere in Albert Square, fans are certain Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) will become a surrogate for Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks) and Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ).

After it was revealed Rainie was never really pregnant, she and Stuart head to a fertility clinic where they are told their options are limited.

When Rainie explains this to Tiffany, she suggests she become a surrogate for the couple. Will Tiffany agree and what will her husband Keegan (Zack Morris) think of the idea?

EastEnders airs Monday on BBC One at 8pm.
