NEWS presenter Dan Walker was left in a bit of a nightmare situation during yesterday's heatwave after he was left trouserless.

The former BBC Breakfast host – who recently made the jump to Channel 5 News – shared his tale on-air.

Whilst things have run pretty smoothly for the star so far, he revealed to his viewers on Monday that he'd actually managed to forget two very important items.

Dan, 45, explained that: "It was a long story," but he'd somehow managed to forget both his shirt and trousers for work.

Thankfully, it was a random member of the public who came to his rescue, and Dan made sure to thank him on the show.

He first joked to colleague Katherine Nash during his live segment from a poolside in Cambridge: "I’m not going to lie, I’ve got full coverage of back sweat.

“You probably don’t wanna hear that but the good news is, people are looking out for each other today!"

Dan continued: "I should say a huge thank you to Hash who works in a pub/hotel around the corner called the Waterman.

“I lost my trousers and shirt today, it’s a long story…

“I turned up there, he lent me an iron, I ironed my spare shirt and he also gave us a nice glass of ice cold water."

“We are live on 5, at 5 talking about the weather @5_News.”

He added below that the man's name was actually "Hash", but his phone had auto-corrected it in the original Tweet.

One fan replied: "God bless you reporting out in the heat today. Take care.🔆🔆🍦🥛"
