Coronation Street fans were left heartbroken when Ken Barlow (William Roache) revealed he would be leaving the cobbles in order to move into retirement accommodation with his partner Claudia Colby (Rula Lenska). The big decision arose in the ITV soap’s milestone 10,000th episode, which saw the long-time resident choose to wave goodbye to the Street for an easier life.

But will his shock decision have repercussions for his children?

Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) are set to go head-to-head as they both want the house for themselves once Ken has moved out.

Tracy is notoriously stubborn, and not getting her own way has never gone down too well.

But will it all come to blows and see the feisty mum-of-one follow suit and leave the cobbles for good?

  • Coronation Street spoilers: Ali Neeson star quits ITV soap

New spoilers on Coronation Street’s official website have now revealed that the moment of truth will take place this week, and fans will find out who the new lucky owner of the property is.

The siblings both make sealed bids for the house and whoever is willing to pay the highest amount will walk away triumphant.

As the family gathers around the living room table at Number 1, joined by Tracy’s husband Steve McDonnell (Simon Gregson) and Peter’s partner Carla Connor (Alison King), Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) does the honours when it comes to opening the bids and revealing the winner.

But, who’ll be celebrating by the end of the evening?

ITV bosses recently confirmed that Ken will go ahead with his plans to depart the cobbles, but not to fear, the veteran soap actor is not leaving the show for good.

Ken, who has been apart of the long-running drama since the first episode aired in 1960, is set to move into the Still Waters luxury retirement complex with Claudia, where he will join friends Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden) and Freda Burgess (Ali Briggs), who have already settled into life at the home.

Fans will be pleased to know that the beloved characters will get up to all sorts away from the hustle and bustle of Weatherfield, with Ken clashing with fellow resident Charles, played by Michael Elwyn.

William Roache, who plays the legendary character, recently explained that he’s “enjoying” the new venture away from the Street.

“We have already started filming at the retirement complex and I am really enjoying it,” he said.

“It always feels different when we film away from the street.

“It seems fitting that Ken makes this decision in the 10,000th episode, but it will be strange not filming in Number 1 after all this time.”

But will it be rainbows and smiles for his children back at home?

Could we be in for another shock exit as Tracy doesn’t get her own way?
