Gary Windass (played by Mikey North) is hiding a murderous secret from his Coronation Street neighbours. The loan shark was to blame for the Underworld factory roof collapse which led to Rana Habeeb’s (Bhavna Limbachia) death and soon after murdered Rick Neelan (Greg Wood). However, Gary could be set to be exposed by Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) in an unusual turn of events.

Last year, Gary evaded justice for the role he played in Rana’s death and the loan shark has kept up the pretence Rick is alive.

After killing him and burying him in Beacon Woods, Gary began sending Laura Neelan (Kel Allen) money in Rick’s name to pay for Kelly Neelan’s (Millie Gibson) school fees.

However, when Kelly turned up in Weatherfield, Gary realised Laura had been pocketing the money herself.

It was clear Kelly’s home life was cause for concern and the teenager was taken in by Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash).

Kelly believed Gary was the only link she had left to her dad and her curiosity caused the loan shark to fear he’d be exposed.

Gary sinisterly persuaded Laura to take back her daughter despite Kelly having enjoyed her time away from her mum.

However, in upcoming scenes, Gary’s lies could finally catch up with him.

The loan shark is forced to up the rent at the factory when Laura threatens to call the police if Rick doesn’t send her more money.

Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is outraged by his demands and mentions it to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) who does some digging.

Adam tracks down Laura who reveals she receives money via a safety deposit box and has no contact with her ex-husband.

Meanwhile, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) asks Carla Connor (Alison King) to step in and help with the day-to-day management of the factory.

She assures Sarah that she can handle Gary and looks over the new lease he’s proposing.

However, the factory will be the least of Gary’s concerns as he discovers Brian is preparing to investigate Beacon Woods.

Brian has read about Roman coins found in the woods and plans on taking his metal detector up there to see what he can find.

Desperate to keep his murderous past secret, Gary tries to persuade Brian to change his mind.

Will Brian uncover more than just Roman coins on his trip to the woods or will Gary be able to stop him in time?

Elsewhere, Adam’s vendetta against Gary leads him to conclude his former love rival is behind Rick’s disappearance.
