Weatherfield reels in the aftermath of the car crash that left viewers on the edge of their seats last week.

Wednesday's episode of Coronation Street kicked off with a foreboding flashforward of Imran Habeen (played by Charlie de Melo) leaving a chilling message for girlfriend Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) in which he revealed everything he'd kept hidden.

Viewers soon witnessed tragedy unfold however, in the form of a horrific car crash which left Imran and Toyah unconscious.

The future of baby Alfie seemingly remains uncertain, while suspicions are beginning to increase increase over what caused the accident as the police continue their probe.

With Abi now home after being questioned with regard to her involvement in the crash, she and Kevin attempt to process the chaotic events.

The police continue to investigate, having allowed Abi Frankin (Sally Carmen) to return home to patner Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), but they're still convinced the crash wasn’t an accident. Do they have another perp in mind?

George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) is meanwhile left shocked after meeting former flame Sean Tully's (Anthony Cotton) new man, Frank Bardsley (Simon O' Brien). The pair were at school together and it’s clear that things weren’t rosy between them.

Sean's gal pal Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Clever) encourages Frank to apologise to George – after mistaking him for a prisoner when he rocks up at her doorstep – for any upset he caused him in the past.

But as the two couples agree to go for dinner, is George and Frank able to put their history behind them?
