Coleen Nolan threw her new man Michael in at the deep end when she brought him to work to introduce him to her Loose Women co-stars.

The popular TV star admitted that the first of the panel to meet her new love interest was Janet Street-Porter and she pre-warned him ahead of their encounter that she could be a tough cookie to win over.

Speaking on Tuesday's (January 18) instalment of the show Coleen opened up to host Ruth Langsford and her fellow panellists Janet and Judie Love as she admitted being totally smitten with her new beau.

Coleen, 56, first met Michael on Tinder and says she decided not to rush in like she had in previous relationships when they started seeing each other.

The pair have now finally gone public with their relationship, posing together for the first time in an exclusive feature with OK! magazine.

She said of their photo shoot: "He is the most laidback calm kind of takes everything in his stride kind of guy Ive ever met.

"It was like he'd always been doing them. I was a nervous wreck. I was the one that was embarrassed, nervous, worried about him.

"Because it's just a strange world isn't it to come into. He has just had a very normal lovely life and then I throw him in with all of you lot."

Coleen then went on to talk about her decision to hold off on going public with their romance.

She explained: "Seven months next week we've been together and it's the first time actually because you know me, normally I meet someone and they've either moved in within a week or I'm married within the first month, and this time round I did want to keep it as private as possible and quiet as possible and to myself as much as possible.

"I think it's really helped me and him get to know each other away from all of this and that's quite nice."

Coleen then recalled how she had warned him to be prepared ahead of his first time meeting Janet.

She said: "He's a guy that wasn't even sacred of Janet.

"I was like 'you're coming in today, now Janet's here, she will bite your head off if she doesn't like ya,' and he was like 'can't wait to meet her'."

Janet interrupted: "It was the second time you'd brought him in when I met him. I thought he was really nice."

Coleen continued: He is he's just really gentle and he brings such calm."

She then opened up about how her children feel about her new relationship adding: "I think it's been an adjustment for the kids and certainly for Kiera.

"Because obviously Kiera has had me to herself really for the last four or five years and we've become a really tight unit. Although her boyfriend lives with us as well now.

"It was hard for Kiera at first and to see a man come in and be tactile and do everything with me because Ray wasn't like that really."

Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm
