Callum Highway (Tony Clay) will finally discover husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) has been brutally attacking homophobic men in EastEnders.

Ben has been committing these awful crimes as he thinks it helps him feel safe. He said this to Sharon (Letitia Dean) in a recent episode, pointing out that time behind bars for attempted murder doesn’t bother him as attacking a homophobic man makes him feel a tiny bit better.

With Jay (Jamie Borthwick) fully aware of what his best mate has been doing, he’s struggling to keep Ben’s vigilante actions a secret in upcoming episodes and very nearly tells Callum everything.

As the week progresses, Ben comes across a man called Rich and convinces himself he was responsible for defacing Callum’s police poster.

He approaches someone he thinks is Rich and starts attacking him, only to realise he’s got the wrong person.

As Jack (Scott Maslen) questions Ben, Jay spots what’s going on and forces his mate to admit he’s responsible.

In Walford East, Ben and Callum celebrate their anniversary but very quickly, the happy atmosphere changes as Ben discovers Jay has told Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) absolutely everything.

Kathy and Callum fume at Ben as he tries to defend his actions, showing no remorse.

But what does this mean for Ben and Callum’s relationship ahead of the storyline that will see newcomer Lewis (Aidan O’Callaghan) sexually assault Ben?
