Britannia is a historic comedy produced by Sky and Amazon Prime Video, which is set in AD 43 and follows the Roman conquest of Britain. In the show, rivals Kerra (Kelly Reilly) and Antedia (Zoë Wanamaker) must work together to fight off the Roman invasion. Here’s everything you need to know about the second series.

When does Britannia season 2 start?

How many episodes are there in Britannia season 2?

There will be 10 episodes in the new season of Britannia.

In the first season, which aired in January last year, there were nine episodes so fans will be treated to an extra show this time around.
Each episode in the previous season is around 45 minutes long so it is expected the new additions will be around the same length.
The new series will see the return of its original cast.

As well as Reilly and Wanamaker, David Morrisey is back as General Aulus and Annabel Scholey will play Celtic Queen Amena.

Eleanor Worthington-Cox is back as Cait, who is being trained by David Divis, played by Nikolaj Lie Kaas.

Britannia will also be welcoming back Pirates of the Caribbean and The Office star Mackenzie Crook in his new role as Harka.
In the first season, he played Veran but he will also star as Veran’s brother Harka.

Speaking after season two was confirmed, Sky’s Commissioning Editor for Drama Cameron Roach said: “The series is a tale of clashing faith systems, torn apart families, mystic men and fearsome queens, all told with humour, heart, epic drama and violence.

“Drama on Sky is about the unexpected, the visceral and the memorable, it’s about stories told in a way you won’t find anywhere else.

“That’s why we are delighted to be working with Jez and the production team on the next installment.“

Britannia season 1 is available to watch on Amazon Prime.
Britannia season 2 will start tonight, Thursday, November 7, on Sky Atlantic at 9pm.
