BBC Breakfast’s meteorologist Matt Taylor refused to predict the weather for King Charles III ’s coronation, claiming it was “someone else’s responsibility”.

During Saturday’s visit to the BBC One studios, Naga Munchetty and her co-host Charlie Stayt welcomed viewers back to the show with the latest headlines in the news.

One of the biggest stories on everyone’s lips is the recent announcement of the star-studded musical line up set to perform at the King’s coronation next month.

Confirmed artists set to entertain the nation include the likes of Katy Perry, Take That and Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli.

As the presenting duo shared their excitement ahead of the royal celebrations, Naga put the weatherman on the spot as she asked him to predict the weather forecast for the joyous occasion.

But Matt was quick to shut down all hopes of an early weather report for the big day, as he joked “it's someone else’s responsibility.”

Naga cheekily asked: “I don’t think you’ll be able to predict what the weather’s like, but Matt might be able to. It’s only three weeks away, Matt, that’s easy isn’t it?.”

He hastily replied: “Yeah, it’s going to be a lovely day. I’m not on that shift so it’s fine, if it goes wrong someone else can take that responsibility, Naga.”
