SPURS are reportedly on the verge of completing a £55million deal for Giovani Lo Celso.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Real Betis star will be a Tottenham player before deadline day next week.

And Lo Celso will apparently pen a five-year contract in the process.

The Argentina international will earn a whopping £3.65m a season in North London.

And it also means Mauricio Pochettino will finally have his new midfield partnership confirmed after already splashing a club-record £64m on Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane is raring to go after getting back to full fitness.

Kane has famously struggled to perform during the first month of Premier League action.

But he is confident the goals will come thick and fast from the off.

CANDY KANE

Kane said: “Last year we had just five days before playing against Newcastle. This year is a totally different situation. It’s helped me.

“I had a nice off-season, obviously got married, relaxed and chilled out. I’ve come back ready to go, as the whole team has, and I feel sharp.

“There’s still a couple more pre-season games but I’m going into the season as fresh as I have been for a long while and hopefully I can take advantage of that.

“In the Premier League [last season] we could have done better. We lost a lot of games we probably shouldn’t have lost. I think the team and me work together.

“When the team is playing well, the striker is normally scoring goals and vice-versa. I think it will help. I think it will definitely put me and the team in a better place.

“It’s not just me – a few of the other lads have had the chance to have a good pre-season. Hopefully we can make the most of it.”
