TEMPLEGATE returns looking to land some winners on the final day of the Punchestown Festival.

Read on below to find out his top tips as Willie Mullins looks to keep up his special week.

ALPHA DES OBEAUX was carried out in a chaotic La Touche Cup here on Thursday and can make amends. He was fourth in the Cheltenham Cross-Country before finishing 11th in the Grand National. That class gives him every chance. Neverushacon was a good third at Wexford three weeks ago and won well the last time he tackled this unique course. Veteran Josies Orders has won this twice and could make the places again.

FREEWHEELIN DYLAN galloped them into the ground when winning the Irish Grand National so should relish this test of stamina. He’s run well here before and should make another bold bid. Mister Fogpatches was a good third in the Scottish National when rallying in the closing stages. That staying power will be a major asset. Anibale Fly didn’t fire at Aintree last time but he would be much better than these at his best and could run into the frame.

3.20

CONCERTISTA was chinned right on the line when second in the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last time. She looks up to winning a Grade 1 and the opposition here isn’t quite so hot. Stablemate Stormy Ireland was revitalised by returning to Willie Mullins when winning at Fairyhouse. She likes it here too and looks the biggest danger. Skyace won at the highest level last time and sees out this trip well. She has a big each-way shout.

QUILIXIOS put Zanahiyr in his place when winning the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham last time with plenty left in the tank. He looks capable of better and can maintain his winning run. Haut En Couleurs finished a good third in that Triumph on debut for Willie Mullins. That was just his second career start so there should be more to come. Saint Sam ran well when second in the Fred Winter. He needs to improve for this but won’t be disgraced.

BRAHMA BULL didn’t get home in the Irish National and will be happier at this trip. He hasn’t had a lot of racing in the past couple of seasons but is a Grade 3 winner at best and has had a little help from the handicapper. Popong took a tumble a Leopardstown last time but has run well on her past two runs here and can bounce back for De Bromhead and Blackmore. Roaring Bull is hit and miss but likes this trip and has slipped to an attractive handicap mark.

5.05

THE SHUNTER can land another nice prize in what has been an amazing season. He landed a big bonus when winning the Paddy Power Plate at Cheltenham and just made a couple of jumping errors when second in an Aintree Grade 1 chase last time. He should be too good from only 3lb higher than his Cheltenham success returning to hurdles. Chatham Street Lad was a good fourth in the Marsh at the Festival last time and looks very well weight back over the smaller obstacles. This trip suits and he’ll run well.

KLASSY KAY was going like the winner when falling late on at Fairyhouse last time. She won here in January and sees out this trip well. The handicapper has nudged her down 2lb which does no harm. Coulonces scored nicely last time in novice company and has little weights moving into a handicap. She has few miles on the clock and should handle this longer distance. Pure Bliss comes over from England having run well in a Warwick Grade 2 latest. She can pay for her trip by making the places.

No form to go on but GUILY BILLY looks a nice prospect for Jamie Codd and Henry De Bromhead. He cost £310,000 after winning a point-to-point and is related to decent winners in France. Willie Mullins is always respected at this level and Patrick rides Willie The Coo. His dam won bumpers as did others in the family. The betting will provide clues about the others.
