MARK WALTON has been axed by Miami Dolphins after he was arrested for allegedly attacking a woman pregnant with his child.

The 22-year-old reportedly pushed the victim against a wall and punched her several times in the head after an argument.

The official NFL website state that the running back was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery of a pregnant person.

A statement from Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier read: "We were made aware of a police matter earlier this morning regarding Mark Walton.

"We hold our players to a high standard and take these matters very seriously.

"We will have no further comment at this time."

According to a Broward County (Fla.) arrest report, the victim is five weeks pregnant.

He is said to be the father of the child and was made aware of the pregnancy on Sunday.

A responding officer allegedly claims the woman had swelling on her left eye.

The 22-year-old is currently serving a four-game suspension for violating NFL's personal conduct policy following three arrests earlier this year.
