The Mets’ coronavirus situation just got a little brighter.

The team said in a statement on Saturday that COVID-19 tests taken Thursday night and again Friday morning came back negative. The entire traveling party that returned to New York from Miami late took the tests.

The Mets also said test results of close contacts for those that remained in Miami also came back negative. A Mets position player and coach recently tested positive for the coronavirus.

The team also announced the entire Mets traveling party will continue to be tested daily and remain in self-isolation.

The Mets, who have not played since Wednesday, said they are awaiting MLB’s decision regarding further schedule information. This weekend’s entire Subway Series vs. the Yankees has been postponed. Both teams have a scheduled off-day on Monday but it is unlikely either will play any games on that day.
