MANCHESTER UNITED youngster Largie Ramazani has quit the club for Spanish second division side Almeria, according to reports.

The 19-year-old winger refused to extend his contract at Old Trafford despite being offered a new deal.

Ramazani, who stands at 5ft 4in, decided that his future development was better served elsewhere in the search for more first team football.

According to the Manchester Evening News, a move to Spain is on the horizon after being offered the prospect of regular senior football.

The reports adds that Ramazani was unhappy with the wages United were offering having demanded a significant increase on his current pay packet.

Ramazani scored nine goals in 13 Premier League 2 appearances and made just one senior appearance that came in the Europa League against Astana in November.

His career began at Anderlecht, before he was brought to England by Charlton Athletic and eventually moved to United in 2017.

Almeria are fourth in the Segunda division and remain in the running for promotion to the top tier.

Taking to social media, Ramazani wrote: "The life of an athlete is made by challenges. Some are given to us.

"Others are fruits of our decision to keep the light that illuminates our career, which is short.

"I want to thank the club for helping me become a better footballer/person and for making me and my family feel at home during my time here.

"After all the years I can only say thank you to the club, to the fans that have supported me since the first day I wore this jersey and of course thank you and good luck to my team-mates, who helped me settle in since day one not only as a teammates but as friends/family.
